# Stock Tokens

> Discover Ondo stocks and allocate them in manual Portfolio Wallets.

Fetch the [portfolio asset catalog](https://docs.groundtech.co/api-reference/list-portfolio-assets.md) to discover visible tokens, purchase availability, supported funding assets, and reference prices.

The live [portfolio asset catalog](https://docs.groundtech.co/api-reference/list-portfolio-assets.md) determines which tokens your organization can use. Check each entry's `mode`, `buyAssets`, and `sellAssets` before showing a trade.

When an Ondo stock is offered in your catalog, its `kind` is `stock`, `name` describes the underlying company or fund, and `assetSymbol` is the Ondo token symbol (for example `QQQon` for Invesco QQQ or `NVDAon` for NVIDIA). `priceUsd` is an indicative price per whole token, with `priceAsOf` and `priceFreshness`. A stale mark remains visible; a new trade requires a fresh mark and an executable quote.

After a stock redemption settles, `nativeUnits` shows the remaining token quantity. Fully redeemed stocks are omitted from `positions`.

Stock tokens can gain or lose value. Their price changes affect wallet value and do not count as `earnedUsd` or yield APY. Fetch `GET /v2/wallets/assets` to discover stock IDs. A stock position in the wallet response has `kind: "stock"`.

When production Ondo routes are enabled, they settle in Ethereum USDC. Sandbox QQQon settles in Sepolia USDC through a simulated manager and token; it does not represent an Ondo-issued share, and its test price does not represent executable market pricing. Read each stock's `buyAssets` and `sellAssets` to discover its available funding and redemption paths. A stock's presence in the stock catalog does not establish a USDT purchase route. Ground validates conversion support when you allocate funds.

Stocks are available in manual wallets through the flat `positions` list and the existing [allocation endpoints](https://docs.groundtech.co/api-reference/preview-allocation.md). Automatic wallet strategies accept cash and yield sources only.

Ground enables the stock router permissions using its existing policy-management authority where available. If your organization has placed policy changes under customer approval, approve the Ondo request in Portal Approvals. Until the stock signing permissions are installed, stock allocations return `400 validation_error` without reserving funds. Enabling stocks preserves your existing administration policies and root quorum.

A stock-funded withdrawal reserves a small share buffer within the route’s permitted price tolerance to preserve the requested cash payout. Any excess redemption proceeds remain in your wallet as USDC. The request needs enough available shares to cover that buffer. If the indicative sell quote differs too much from the current stock price, retry the preview later; no withdrawal is created from that quote.

You can set the stock quote price limit per movement for manual allocations or per selected stock source for withdrawals. The default is 100 bps (1%) and the selectable range is 0–500 bps (0–5%). The selected limit is checked against the executable quote at trade time; the route ceiling is not applied automatically as your limit.

A stock operation can request a fresh executable quote automatically when the previous quote expired before signing or submission, subject to the original amount and price limit. A confirmed reverted transaction can be retried once when its chain evidence is consistent with quote expiry. If signing or submission may have occurred, the revert is not consistent with expiry, or repeated fresh quotes cannot complete the trade, the operation remains processing with its amount reserved for Ground to review. Contact Ground if it stops progressing; submitting another allocation or withdrawal with a new request ID does not recover it.

A stock can become exit-only: new purchases stop while redemption of existing holdings remains available, subject to issuer availability. An emergency suspension can also stop redemption.

Sandbox stock orders are limited to 10 USDC of stock value per purchase or redemption. Requests above that limit are declined; larger orders are not automatically split.
